Who we are
Founded by a social worker with over 20 years' experience, Family Konnect is a child-focused, trauma-informed contact service facilitating contact for separated families and out-of-home-care agencies across Sydney, Newcastle, the Central Coast and Wollongong, and is affiliated with the Australian Children's Contact Services Association.
At the heart of Family Konnect is a simple belief: that every child deserves the chance to know their parent in a safe, supportive environment. Having worked with families and children for over 20 years, both locally and overseas, I founded Family Konnect to move away from cold, impersonal processes and offer something truly child-focused and compassionate.
We provide the safety required by the courts, but with the personal touch families deserve, so you can relax and focus purely on connecting with your kids. We are dedicated to providing 'Nurturing Spaces, Stronger Bonds', helping your family move forward with dignity.

For children and young people
Hi. We are really glad you are here. Your safety and your happiness are the most important things to us. Here is what you can expect from Family Konnect.
Everything we do is about making sure you are okay. We will listen to what you say, and we will take your feelings seriously.
We check that the places we meet are safe before you get there, and the grown-ups who look after you are trained to keep you protected.
It does not matter who you are, where you come from, what language you speak at home, what you believe, or whether you have a disability. You are respected and welcome here.
If something makes you feel sad, scared, or yucky, you can tell us. We promise to listen and to help. You can talk to your supervisor, to your parent or carer, or to anyone at Family Konnect.
Every grown-up who works here has had a special safety check, called a Working With Children Check, so that we know they are safe to be around kids.
They will never ask to meet you in secret, they will never message you on social media, and they will always respect your personal space. If a grown-up here ever breaks one of those rules, please tell someone.
You can tell your supervisor. You can tell your parents or carer. You can ask a grown-up to call us, or you can email us at contact@familykonnect.com.au.
Kids Helpline is there at any time of the day or night. It is free, it is private, you do not have to give your name, and they are not part of Family Konnect.
You will never get in trouble for telling us something. We will tell you what we are going to do about it, in words that make sense to you.
For grown-ups: these promises are section 2.2 of our Child Safe Policy Manual, version 3.1 (PDF), the document every supervisor signs. Family Konnect has zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect or harm of any kind, and works to the ten NSW Child Safe Standards administered by the Office of the Children's Guardian.

Every supervisor holds a current Working with Children Check, verified through the Office of the Children's Guardian before their first visit, and a National Police Clearance, and has been screened by us, so you can have total peace of mind about who is facilitating your time.
Our team is qualified across the family services sector, from social work and youth work to community work, giving us the skills to manage complex family dynamics with professionalism and care.
Our supervisors bring genuine empathy, patience and care, and a passion for helping families; many are parents themselves. We provide unbiased, non-judgmental observations of parent-child interactions, so parents feel respected while children remain comfortable and happy.

We are affiliated with ACCSA, the Australian Children's Contact Services Association, and every supervisor is verified through the Office of the Children's Guardian and holds a national police clearance.

Family Konnect has zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect or harm of any kind. We work to the ten NSW Child Safe Standards: every supervisor's Working With Children Check is verified through the Office of the Children's Guardian before a first visit, every venue and home is assessed, and you do not need proof to raise a concern.
