Mission

At Family Konnect, our mission is to provide safe, supportive, and child-centred contact supervision and related services that protect and nurture the relationship between children and their parents. We are committed to creating neutral, respectful environments where children can feel secure and valued, and where meaningful connections with parents can be maintained or rebuilt. Every interaction is guided by the belief that a child’s emotional well-being and right to safe, positive relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

Vision

Our vision is to be the trusted leading provider of supervised contact services across New South Wales, recognised for our commitment to safety, integrity, and family wellbeing. We strive to create consistent, supportive spaces where children feel secure, parents feel respected, and families have the opportunity to rebuild, reconnect, and grow. Through inclusive, responsive, and community-minded service, we aim to help every family navigate challenges with dignity and hope.

Our Process

1. Initial Contact

Both parties are required to complete and sign the referral form, attaching all relevant court documents (e.g. court orders, AVOs). Ideally, the same form is signed by both parents to confirm agreement on the planned arrangement and visit conditions. Incomplete referrals cannot be processed, so please ensure all documents are submitted together.

2. Intake Assessment

Once referral forms are received, we schedule separate intake and risk assessment interviews with each parent. These interviews are confidential, and no personal information about the other parent is disclosed. Safety concerns are thoroughly explored, and we assess each parent’s ability to engage in safe and respectful communication. If suitable, all parties receive a Service Agreement outlining session costs and expectations, which must be signed before contact can begin. Payment is required from the responsible party prior to services commencing. At this stage, a child familiarisation session may also be recommended or requested.

3. Supervised Family Visits

Once intake is complete and the Service Agreement is in place, supervised contact sessions begin. Visits continue on an ongoing basis, provided both parties comply with the agreement and the arrangements remain in the child’s best interest.

4. Reports and Feedback

After each visit, a detailed contact report is prepared by the supervising staff. Reports are emailed to the appropriate parties within 3–5 business days. Ongoing visitation is reviewed based on progress, adherence to the Service Agreement, and guidance from the referring party or organisation.

At Family Konnect, we maintain a clear and structured process from initial referral through to final reporting, ensuring all parties are informed and confident. We conduct thorough intake assessments with both parents individually, with a strong focus on safety, confidentiality, and risk management.

Our service agreement clearly outlines roles, expectations, and session arrangements, creating clarity and accountability for everyone involved. Supervised contact sessions are documented with detailed, objective reports, which are delivered within 72 hours.

Highly Individualised Service

Our services are tailored to the unique needs, court orders, and circumstances of each child, parent, and family situation. Additionally, we work with Family Court professionals, DCJ, and NGOs delivering OOHC programs to ensure our approach aligns with broader case goals.

Whether it’s contact supervision, transport, supervised changeovers, or respite care, we adapt to what’s appropriate for the child’s age, needs, and setting. We offer flexible locations, times, and support arrangements—always guided by what is safe and in the child’s best interest.

Experienced and Professional Team

Our Founder, Silvia, has over two decades of experience working with families and children in both government and non-government organisations. Her deep understanding of the challenges families face, especially children navigating complex family dynamics, has shaped the compassionate, child-focused approach that defines everything we do. Silvia brings her knowledge, expertise and heart to her leadership. She holds tertiary qualifications in Social Work and Business Management. Silvia is a fellow member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

All our staff are experienced, hold relevant qualifications, are compassionate, and some are parents themselves. They also have current Working with Children Checks and Cleared National Police Checks.
